What does it mean to be pro-active? It means to accept that we are 100% responsible for our thoughts, actions, words, and attitudes. It also means we do not accept responsibility for other people or for circumstances. These are outside our control. Our focus is on being "response able" as we face other people and circumstances. To accept that we have the duty to exercise self control and wisdom in every circumstance.
To be pro-active also means that we are looking ahead. We are not waiting to "react" but instead to be planning how we will respond and what we will do before anything happens. We are not looking to other people or circumstances to set our values, goals, or objectives. Instead we have a mission and plan that we aim to seek to bring to reality.
How are you doing today in the area of being pro-active? Are you accepting that only you are responsible for your thoughts, actions, words, and attitudes? Have you blamed someone for what you did in the last 24 hours? Strive today to have a pro-active attitude that aims at self control and seeks to be guided by long term wisdom in every action.
