Sane Word For Today

Much of our struggle with dealing with the past is to fully recognize some realities about the past.

1. The past is gone only a memory of the past remains
2. Whatever happened in the past, by the grace of God you survived it
3. The memory is just a mental "ghost" of the past pain and has no real power to harm you but can scare and haunt you.
4. When you experienced the events that led to your memory of the past you were younger and weaker than you are today.
5. Your younger and weaker self survived the reality that your memory now reflects
6. Your stronger and more mature self today can face and be free of the fear of the memory
7. Prayers of release and self talk that is aimed at living in present time as one who has survived and grown stronger are key methods of overcoming our painful past. (Read Philippians 4)

By dealing with our past we can reach the full potential for our future.
